Removal
NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. If an excessive amount of metal or friction material is present, the transmission will need to be overhauled.
Torque : 12 NmNOTE: If transmission disassembly or installation of a new transmission is necessary, remove the bracket.
NOTICE: Secure the transmission to the transmission jack with a safety strap.
General Equipment : Transmission JackNOTE: If transmission disassembly or installation of a new transmission is necessary, remove the transmission mounted transmission fluid cooler tubes.
Installation
NOTE: If removed, inspect the transmission mounted transmission fluid cooler tube backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary.
NOTE: Tighten in the sequence shown.
Torque : 125 NmNOTE: If the transmission has been replaced or overhauled, the halfshaft seals do not need to be replaced.
Refer to: Halfshaft Seal LH (307-01 Automatic Transmission - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Removal and Installation).NOTE: When seated correctly, the halfshaft bearing retaining clip can be felt as it snaps into the differential side gear groove.
NOTE: If the transmission has been replaced or overhauled, the halfshaft seals do not need to be replaced.
